WHY AN “OWNER’S MANUAL”?
As Catholic Christians,
we believe that our baptism makes us members of the Body of Christ.
The Second Vatican Council declared that as the people of God, we are the
Church. Then we are the “owners and operators” of a sacred trust
left to us by Christ.
As the Church of the Holy
Family, we are in communion with one another, and called to care for Christ’s
Body. Taking care of something requires instructions. Thus
we have an “owner’s manual”, a guide both to the community life of the
parish, and to the components which make up this particular part of the
Body of Christ.
This web site manual is designed
to assist you with practical information about how Church of the Holy Family
prays, lives, and works together. It is divided into five parts.
The first section has information about the parish. The second section
deals with our Prayer Life. The third, our Sacramental Life and the
fourth is about our Community Life.
The last and final section
is on the Stewardship of the parish. Stewardship is our response
to Jesus’ call to become partners in God’s work. This section is
arranged according to the different areas of ministry. The ministry
activities for each area of ministry include descriptions and, when possible,
information on time requirements.
