Liturgy
When
we say "yes" to ministry, we say "yes" to Christ and to all whom he
claims
as his own. In this way, a unity is formed between the essence of
ourselves
and all the people of God. Our prayerful preparation for ministry
is
crucial and necessary, but as ministers of the liturgy, we are called
not
only to pray but to practice what we pray. On one level, each
ministry
demands of us the same response--to allow Christ to live in us and to
recognize
and serve the very life of Christ in our sisters and brothers.
But
unless we also cultivate the practical skills which allow these
ministries
to take effective form, we cannot respond to this call.
