How to Reflect on Your Stewardship
Commitments:
Time, Talent and Treasure
The process of deciding what your commitment
of time, talent and money will be begins with prayer and conscious reflection
on what you believe is an adequate investment of yourself in the mission
of Jesus Christ. This investment reflects your own sense and appreciation
of God’s generosity.
Assess the total amount of time, talent
and money that makes up the treasury of your personal resources.
Consider all the responsibilities for which you must manage and apply these
resources. Then decide what portion of these resources will be your
personal investment in the mission of Jesus Christ as it is carried out
by our parish community. The portion you commit is your gift from
the first fruits of your own treasures.
If there is more than one person in your
household, work through this process together, discussing and weighing
the impact your commitments will have on one another and sharing how you
will support one another in keeping these commitments. You will be
asked to make your commitments known. This provides to those who
are stewards of the parish resources the ability to plan for and manage
those resources responsibly. |
