To help younger children participate more fully in the Mass, children who have not yet received their First Eucharist are welcomed to celebrate the Liturgy of the Word in an age-appropriate way in a different room, outside the worship space, with two adult leaders.
It is offered during the 08:15am and 11:00am Masses on Sundays during the Christian Formation school year.
Children ages 3 through 1st grade are invited to participate, if they are able to toilet independently.
There is no registration fee to participate.
If children would like to participate, they just walk to the altar when invited by Fr. Rene or the Deacon at the beginning of Mass.
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to attend with their child(ren) for the first few times to help them become comfortable!
What do the children do in CLOW?
CLOW is truly a Liturgy of the Word for little ones! After dismissal from the main worship space, the children gather just outside in Family Room C+D with two VIRTUS certified adults. There they sing a gathering song, hear a simplified Gospel, reflect on the Word, profess their faith, and pray for their intentions together. The children return to the worship space after the completion of Father Rene's homily and the creed.
FALL 2024: WE NEED ADULT VOLUNTEERS!
Have you wanted to volunteer at the the parish, but found your availability limits you? Would the consistent commitment of every week be too much? Are you usually at Church of the Holy Family on Sundays anyways? CLOW is a wonderfully flexible way to give of your time and talent! Our ability to continue to make CLOW available at both Sunday Masses depends on YOU!
Commit only when YOU are available via regular online sign-ups, NOT EVERY WEEK!
No prep work required - CLOW "scripts" are prepared and waiting for you on Sunday morning!
Sessions are simple and straightforward to facilitate with a fellow adult volunteer!
Never led CLOW before and feeling unsure? Get your feet wet as an adult assistant before volunteering as the adult leader!
Volunteers are back in the worship space before the Liturgy of the Eucharist, so there is no need to attend another Mass to fulfill the Sunday Mass obligation!
