“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace: keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.”

“Our parishes seek to follow Christ by serving our sisters and brothers in need through these kinds of charitable works. However, our faith also calls us to complement these works of mercy and social teaching with action for justice in our world.
We ask our parishioners to echo this sentiment by saying that our church truly follows Christ in “service” by doing three things:
Action – Respond to the needs of people who are poor and vulnerable and to the needs of our fragile environment.
Reflection – Study the root causes of social issues and reflect on them in the light of Scripture and Catholic Social Teaching.
Transformation – Work for justice in society so that human life & dignity is respected and protected law and social practice and that the integrity of God’s creation is safeguarded.”
